When Park and I moved to Huntsville with our three month old daughter 35 years ago, we joined First Baptist Church. We both had grown up going to church reaping the benefits of being part of a loving church family. We wanted the same for our young daughter and felt strongly about the importance of going where we would be encouraged and supported as we tried to “ Train up a child in the way he should go….” (Proverbs 22:6) What a blessing it was to raise our daughter being nurtured in the faith by so many loving and committed believers. We know that the years of participating in Sunday school, Wednesday night activities, camps, Vacation Bible School and a myriad of other activities encouraged and helped grow Meredith’s relationship with the Lord.
We are thrilled that now Meredith, her husband Thomas and their six month old daughter Addison are attending FBC and getting involved in various aspects of ministry! What joy to be at the same church, knowing we will be able to see how Addison will be loved and cared for just as her Mother was for so many years.
Because we have been members of FBC for 30 + years, we understand that it is definitely time for the facilities that are used by the youngest generation to be updated! As we listened to the reports and read about the plans for the renovation, we became committed to doing our part to help this project become a reality! We are EXCITED as we think of our precious grand child and many others of the youngest generation in our fellowship reaping the benefits of the new space for years to come! As Huntsville continues to grow and attract young families having an up-to-date, newly improved area for kids as well as a vibrant preschool/children’s ministry will be a plus as parents look for a church home. As our church strives to be the “ church in the heart of the city”, we pray we can continue to reach out to children of all ages that need a place to learn about Jesus and a relationship with Him.
We understand children are truly a gift from the Lord and we want to help do our part in the GENERATIONS campaign to help provide the very best place for children and their parents to “ …grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ….”
