Howdy! We’re the Schoenert family, Eric, Katie, Cooper (7) and Jordan (3). We moved to Huntsville in July of 2019 from College Station, Texas! Not too long after our move, we started visiting FBC Huntsville regularly. We quickly got involved and enrolled our youngest in the WEE Ministry and started enjoying YA Girls and Guys Nights Outs. I became involved in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and we became part of a Sunday School class.
At the beginning of 2020 we were introduced to the GENERATIONS Building and Renovation project. It was touching to see all of the stories from church members about how the church had made such a huge impact in their lives and no matter their stage in life, they were going to be giving to this project to help bless the children in the church and in this city. We knew this was the church for us to join and that we wanted to give to and support the GENERATIONS Building and Renovation project.
I loved how the church included the children and opened up the conversation so children could give if they wanted to as well! Our oldest decided he wanted to give a little bit of the money that he earns each week doing chores. Cooper told me, “I’m giving money because I’m a kid and it’s for the kids! It’s going to be great!” I think he’s most excited about the playground!
We can’t wait to see how the church, through this project, continues to bless others in this community!
