Not Now, but in the Future

We are Kristin and Scott Brewer and we have three children- Austin, Mattie, and Marshall. Although we have only been at First Baptist for about four years, it was clear from the start that children were important to FBC and having three children ourselves, that was very important to us.

Our children have aged out of the Children’s ministry and moved on to First Students. One has just graduated out of Students- hard to believe how fast time goes by! When the GENERATIONS Building and Renovation campaign started, we made the easy decision to pledge to give to this effort. Even though our children would not directly reap the benefits of this beautiful renovation, we believe that children are the future of our church. It is important to invest in them. We believe that the seeds of the Gospel are planted in the hearts of children and go with them throughout their lives, reminding them who they are, rooting them in good soil, and providing a solid foundation for a Christ-centered life. What could be more important?

Even though up to this point, we are not a multi-generational family as many are at FBC, we hope to be! In the future, we hope to see our own grandchildren enjoying the new Children’s area. It fills our hearts with joy to think of our own future generations growing and learning in Christ in this beautiful area made specifically for them.
