“Legacy” can be a self-centered concept, as in “Will people remember me?” Or, “legacy” can be a wonderful, biblical, life goal—a motivation—that those who come behind us will love, and be transformed by, the Lord we love and Who has transformed us.
Our commitment to those who come behind us takes on new urgency with stories like one released by Pew Research last week noting the steep decline in the number of Americans who identify as Christian. The steepest decline is among young adults.
Our GENERATIONS campaign is one piece of evidence of our church’s love for little ones and those yet unborn. I pray that God will bless our efforts to be a truly multi-generational congregation and to “declare God’s might to the next generation” (Psalm 71:18)
