Opportunities to Learn and Build Friendships

When we, Sam and Amanda Golden, moved to Huntsville in 2014, we knew one of the first things we wanted to do as a couple was find a church to join. With our first child on the way, we wanted to feel good about the adult programs as well as the children’s programs. From the first time we visited First Baptist we felt nothing but welcome. After visiting our share of churches in the area, First Baptist won us over and we joined on Easter Sunday in 2016.

We were soon involved with our Sunday school class, WEE (Heart of the City Kids), MOPS, and have both served on different ministry teams throughout the years. Since we have joined we have had another child and we couldn’t be more thankful for the wonderful resources that are and have been available to our boys, Ellis (6) and Charlie (4). Specifically, our boys have received great support in their spiritual development and Heart of the City Kids has given them opportunities to learn and build friendships.

We believe through the GENERATIONS Building and Renovation Campaign things will only get better. We have already been using the new facilities and our kids absolutely love it! We have been taking advantage of story time on Thursdays, they both love the library and of course the new play place is their favorite part.  Charlie will be able to use the new classrooms on a regular basis this year as part of pre-k and they will both be using the new space for Sunday school. We are so excited to see how this helps FBC grow and provide a space that is truly for the kids.
