First Baptist has been our church home since very early in our marriage. We began our journey here in a newlywed class where we were mentored by great teachers. We met many couples in those early days that have become lifelong friends. We were blessed with three children who grew up in the nurture of this great church. All of them made a profession of faith in Christ as a result of the leadership and the fellowship they received at First Baptist. We have also grown in our relationship with Jesus through the guidance and loving sacrifice of the previous generations. Through the years we have been increasingly aware and more thankful for being a part of this multigenerational congregation. It’s important for the church to minister to all generations, furnishing the ability for us to be mentored as well as to give back in that process.
As the GENERATIONS Building and Renovation campaign began, we wanted to be open to God’s guidance and to give back to Him and to this church. It is important for our church to be attractive to all generations, especially young adult families. By supporting GENERATIONS, we want to encourage young families to feel important and loved as they begin their lives together. We would like for them to have those same opportunities we did to build their lives around a relationship with Christ and fellowship with His people. We believe that it is critical for young children to learn early of God’s love and grace and to begin a relationship with him.
It is our hope that God receives much glory, and that children, parents and grandparents come to know and fellowship with Him as a result of this children’s ministry project.
